Wrongful Death
In Texas, when someone is killed as a result of someone else’s negligence, the surviving spouse, child, or parent can sue the negligent person, persons, or company that caused the death. This is called a “Wrongful Death claim” and allows for the compensation for losses resulting from the family member’s death.
If you are the surviving spouse, child, or parent of someone who has been killed because of the negligent conduct of someone else caused by an auto accident, car accident, truck accident, 18-wheeler accident, motorcycle accident, rail road or train accident, or a product that malfunctioned or was negligently designed the Thompson Law Firm wants to represent you.
The amount of compensation you are entitled to depends on many factors including your relationship with the deceased. Parents may recover for the loss of companionship and mental anguish caused by their child’s death. Damages in the death of a minor child may include potential financial contributions from the deceased child. Surviving spouses can recover for the loss of companionship, loss of financial contributions, and mental anguish.
