Drunk Driver Accidents

Driving while Intoxicated (“DWI”) or driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol seriously impairs a driver’s ability to operate his or her car, truck or motorcycle in a safe manner. In San Antonio in 2010 there were 5,769 people arrested for drunk driving, and 55 people were killed as a result of alcohol involved traffic accidents. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation 45% of all traffic-related deaths in Texas involved a drunk driver as late as 2006. It is clear that drunk drivers are out there and it is also clear that they can, and do, cause serious injuries and death on our roadways.
